Civil Engineer

Job Description
*Position requires thorough knowledge of civil engineering analysis and design techniques.
*Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
*Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and the firm standards.
*Designs and supervises construction projects such as site plans, roads, bridges, channels, dams, and drainage infrastructure.
*Responsibilities also include preparing proposals and establishing completion dates.
Requirements
BS in Civil Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
Min. 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within civil engineering.
Works under immediate supervision.
Primary job function sometimes requires exercising independent judgment.
Typical duties will include but not be limited to the preparation and/or modification of the following: • Civil engineering calculations. • Civil engineering plans, design, and layout. • Civil project specifications. • Civil engineering portion of project cost estimate
Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes.
