Kineticom, Inc. seeks Operations Director of Infrastructure Planning & Org in San Diego, CA.
 
THE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR OF INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING AND OPTIMIZATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IDENTIFYING AND MANAGING EXPENSE REDUCTION PROJECTS, SERVING AS NETWORK PLANNING POINT OF CONTACT AND ESCALATION, MONITORING NETWORK UTILIZATION, MONITORING VENDOR CONTRACT TERMS  AND CONDITIONS, SUPPORTING THE BID DESIGN AND ESTIMATE PROCESS, SOURCING VENDOR FIBER QUOTES, PERFORMING RETURN ON INVESTMENT ANALYSES, COMPILING ESTIMATES, CREATING CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR NETWORK OVERBUILDS AND COMPILING AND ANALYZING DATA AND CREATING PRESENTATIONS AND REPORTS.
COMPILE ESTIMATES, DEVELOP BUDGETS AND CREATE CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SUPPORT OF INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT AND OVERBUILD PROJECTS.
MONITOR FIBER CONSUMPTION ACROSS THE REGION AND MEET WITH LOCAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT, FIELD OPERATIONS AND FIBER ENGINEERING TEAMS TO IDENTIFY WHERE FIBER OVERBUILDS ARE REQUIRED.
PERFORM RETURN ON INVESTMENT ANALYSIS (ROI) IN SUPPORT OF REPLACING OR REDUCING NETWORK AND OPERATIONAL EXPENSES.
UNDERSTAND COMPETITOR NETWORKS IN RELATION TO THE CLIENT NETWORK AND SOURCE VENDOR QUOTES IN SUPPORT OF NETWORK AND OPERATIONAL EXPENSE REDUCTION EFFORTS, BID REQUESTS, AND CAPITAL EXPENSE MANAGEMENT.
ANALYZE AND OPTIMIZE NEW AND EXISTING FIBER ROUTES. IDENTIFY CAPACITY RELIEF OPPORTUNITIES AND ENGINEER OPTIMAL SPLICING AND UTILIZATION OF THE CABLE. WORK WITH OTHER PRODUCT GROUPS TO CONSOLIDATE/GROOM MULTIPLE CUSTOMER CIRCUITS ONTO EXISTING OR NEW SYSTEMS. IDENTIFY ALTERNATE ROUTING AND WORK WITH FIBER ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT TEAMS TO BALANCE NETWORK USAGE.
RESEARCH INTERNAL SYSTEMS TO DEVELOP SCOPES OF WORK AND CREATE WORK ORDERS TO AUDIT FIBER OPTIC CABLES, 3RD PARTY CROSS CONNECTS, JUMPERS, TERMINATION PANELS, PASSIVE FILTER PANELS, RISERS, SPLICES, DIVERSITY, LOCATION AND CONSOLIDATION OPPORTUNITIES IN SUPPORT OF NETWORK AND OPERATIONAL EXPENSE REDUCTION PROJECTS.
SYSTEMATICALLY REVIEW ALL NETWORK AND OPERATIONAL EXPENSES. REVIEW SUPPORTING VENDOR CONTRACTS FOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. REVIEW SERVICES BEING SUPPORTED BY THE EXPENSE. UNDERSTAND SERVICE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. UNDERSTAND SERVICE PARAMETERS SUCH AS DIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS.
MONITOR VENDOR CONTRACTS FOR EXPIRATION. ENGAGE VENDOR FOR EARLY RENEWAL IN SUPPORT OF EXPENSE REDUCTION. ENGINEER A NETWORK SOLUTION TO REPLACE THE EXPENSE PRIOR TO EXPIRATION.
SERVE AS NETWORK PLANNING POINT OF CONTACT AND ESCALATION; CONDUCT AND ATTEND PROJECT CALLS, SUPPORT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING BY PROVIDING TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT THROUGHOUT PROJECT COMPLETION. FACILITATE CREATION OF STANDARD PROCESSES AND SPECIFICATIONS TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND TIMELY SERVICE DELIVERY. PROVIDE AND ATTEND TECHNICAL TRAINING AS NEEDED. TELECOMMUTING IS PERMITTED AS NEEDED.

REQUIRES 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN FIBER ENGINEERING AND/OR FIBER PROJECT MANAGEMENT. REQUIRES 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING: FIBER ENGINEERING AND/OR FIBER PROJECT MANAGEMENT; TELECOMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS ENGINEERING AND DESIGN; TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, PROCEDURES, MATERIALS, AND METHODS; OUTSIDE PLANT AND INSIDE PLANT TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE; DESIGN, ENGINEERING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT OF TRANSPORT AND NETWORKING TECHNOLOGIES; MANAGING PROJECTS AND PERSONNEL AGAINST PRODUCTIVITY SLAS; WORKING IN A FAST-PACED CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATION.
